The brief from Angostura was to help them create and launch their first spiced rum, we were to research the category providing several directions aimed at different consumers and price-points. In the end we agreed on Tamboo, a spiced rum inspired by Trinidad & Tobago’s carnival with a nod to its history and modern culture.

I worked on the initial creative routes and art-directed the packaging design - focussing on shelf standout and representing the musical and visual iconography of carnival whilst integrating the naturally abundant spices of the island. With the supporting launch campaign I designed a bright, flowing typography style that presented local slang in a way that mimicked carnival dancing to further the theme.
